Starting World Wide Women has been a goal of mine for a while now, it was my mother who gave me the name for the site, she has now passed away but I think she would love what I am doing. Last year when my son graduated from university and got himself work in the film industry in London, I decided that now was the time to follow my dreams. I want to make this a platform for amazing women and their stories.
Kings Theatre Portsmouth- PR Officer
So what does a PR Officer do? Well my boss quite often asked that? Apart from saying darling rather a lot, I set up all the media interviews with the forthcoming celebrities who performed at the theatre. I also worked with the marketing team on pr and marketing campaigns; this was a wonderful job in a fantastic location.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard – Event Co-ordnator
If you have never been to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, I can highly recommend it's worth a visit, home to HMS Victory and the Warrior and not forgetting the Mary Rose, I will never forget my time working at the dockyard. My most memorable events were the Victorian Festival of Christmas and the Trafalgar Celebrations 200 as I met the Queen. In the 6 years I worked there I made lots of wonderful friends who I am still in contact with.
Cowes Week / Round the Island Race (Public Relations)
Working in the media centre at Cowes Week, it was brilliant fun; I met lots of journalist from around the world plus sponsors of the race. I spent the week sleeping on floor of a friend’s house. We worked hard but had lots of fun.
Freelance Journalist Yachts and Yachting
I worked on features for Yachts and Yachting well my son was small it was a ideal way of earning some money, and making great contacts.
Finally Lizeva a Bridal Shop
I ran it with my sisterJune, this was the grounding for my career. My sister is a fantastic seamstress, I am not even though I tried very hard, we made designer wedding dresses and evening wear, and would spend endless afternoons wearing our dresses in our shop and trying hats and vales. We even took a collection of our dresses up to see the buyer of Liberty's in London and contacted Princess Diana with our collection. We were young and thought the sky was the limit.
